Rayfield Adams
1976
At ORHS – A 2 sport athlete lettering in Football, and Track. In football, he earned All-Metro, District and Region honors from the Defensive End position. He was also named to the All-Central Florida team as a Senior and won the ORHS Defensive Player of the Year award. Member of the 1974 undefeated Metro Conference, District and Region Championship team. In track, he ran the 220-yard leg on various relays, and was a member of the Metro, District, and Region Championship Track teams.
Post HS – Went on to play Football at Edinboro University, where he played Defensive Back, and Free/Strong, where he was a 4-year letterman and 3-year starter. Received offers/recruited by several CFL and NFL teams at the end of his college career.
Demetrius Cox
2003
At ORHS - 5 Varsity letters in Football and Track during his time as Pioneer. In football, he earned All-Metro honors at the running back position. Rushed for 1000+ yards his junior and senior years. During his senior season, he rushed for 260 yards and 5 TDs in a game against Colonial; while going on to lead the way for ORHS Football to make the playoffs for the first time since 1977. He went on to win the Orlando Touchdown club award as a senior and played in the Central Florida All-Star game. On the track, he earned All-Metro, and All-District honors running the 100 & 200-meters dashes. He was a staple at the lead off leg for the 4x100 relay teams at ORHS, while helping the Pioneers win a district championship in 2001.
Post HS – Received a scholarship to Graceland University for Football, where he played one football season. Transferred to Tabor College and finished his career 4th on Tabor College’s single-game all-purpose yards all time and was voted to the NAIA College Football Senior All-Star Game. He is currently the head football coach at Hillsboro High School in Kansas, while also coaching basketball and track.
Jamia Hutto
2008
At ORHS – One of the greatest runners in Oak Ridge history, she earned 8 varsity letters in two sports during her time as a Pioneer. In Cross-Country, she was a 2-time Orange County Runner of the Year. She led the Cross-Country team to a Metro title for the first time in 30 years. She earned All-State honors as a sophomore finishing 3RD at the State Meet. In Track, she was an 8-time Metro, 8-time District, and 7-time Region Champion. During her track career, she won 6 state titles - winning the 800 meters twice, the 1600 meters, and 3 as a member of the 4x800m relay team. She helped lead the Lady Pioneers to 3 State Championships as a team, along with a runner-up finish. She went on to earn All-American honors as a senior, and her jersey was retired in 2008 at ORHS.
Post HS – Went on to run Cross Country and Track and Field at Norfolk State University, where she earned All-MEAC honors 3 times – 1 Cross County, 1 Indoor Track, and 1 Outdoor Track.
Rob Indicott
1976
At ORHS – Earned 5 Varsity letters in 3 sports during his time at ORHS – 2 Football, 2 Track and 1 Wrestling. In football, he was a 2-year starter at Center for the Pioneers. He earned All-Metro, All-Central Florida, and All-State honors as a lineman. He was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in Metro conference as a senior. He was a member of the 1974 Metro, District, and Region Championship team. Went on to play in the FACA All-State game and went on to be named to Parade All-American team – the 2nd Pioneer ever in Football. In Track, he threw the Shot Put and Discus for the Pioneers and was a member of the Metro, District, and Region Championship teams as a senior
Post HS – Earned a football scholarship to Tulane University, where he was a 4-year starter at Tackle and played in 2 bowl games during his career (Liberty & Hall of Fame bowls). He also earned a letter in Track and Field.
*Kim Menke
1965
At ORHS – A 4 sport athlete for the Pioneers earning 10 varsity letters - 3 in football, 3 basketball, 3 baseball, and 1 in Golf. In Football, he earned Prep Back of the Week honors for his play from the Quarterback position in 1964. As a junior, he was a member of the Golf team and was part of the first Metro Championship team in Oak Ridge High School history in any sport. He won the Football MVP award for the Pioneers as a senior, along with ORHS Outstanding Athlete award. Served as Vice-President in his Sophomore and as well a member of Key Club & National Honor Society.
Post HS - He earned a football scholarship to Wake Forest University but was injured his freshman year and forced to stop playing football. He graduated from Wake Forest in 1968.
Robin Wilhelm
1978
At ORHS – A 3-year letterman in Swimming for the Pioneers, she was one of the top team point winners in numerous events and strokes. She set team records in the 200 and 400 freestyle while going on to earn All-Metro honors during her career. She was a 3-time State Qualifier and finished 5th in the 400 Freestyle as a junior. Ranked nationally in 1974, she completed in the National Championships in the 200-yard freestyle race. In 1975, she was selected as an Athletic Ambassador for Orlando and competed in the 200-meter freestyle event in the National Junior Olympics.
Post HS - She went on to Clemson University where she earned her degree and went on to become a teacher in Orange County for over 28 years. In 2006 and 2023 she was selected as her school’s Teacher of the Year.
